This is a type of Direct Current (DC) Test. During this Test, we will maintain the potential at a selected (usually anodic) voltage and measure the current as a function of time.

We will then analyze the area under the Curve. In this case, the area under the curve is
Amps times seconds (A x s). Amp seconds are called Coulombs, which are related to the loss of mass of a metal through Faraday's Law.

This type of Test would generate a Potentiostatic Curve
similar to the one in the Figure below.
